Manga Cover Art
Expectations
The goal of book cover design is convey to the audience as much about the story as possible in just a single piece of artwork. To give some glimpse into the story so that the consumer might take interest and to stick out when sitting on a book shelf with thousands of other books.
What makes a good cover?
A pretty important factor is composition, how an artist arranges the elements of art (line, color, form, texture, space, etc.) to create a balanced and pleasing final image. Comics are, arguably, a little unique because covers also often tell a story; or at the very least, hint at a story.
