This pacing guide is meant to be more of a rough approximation. Many of these lessons will take multiple days. It is a rare class that will get through all of this material if distrubed correctly.

Build your Cubecraft > Cut out your CubeCraft figure and put it together
Anime Trace > Show what you are capable of with the drawing tools
Illustrated Book Cover Project Brief > Breakdown the project and doodle out 4 different version of it
Book Workday 1 > Begin working on the front cover rough design
Tracing Abstract > Look at how to work in teams by finishing what someone else started.
Patterns & Blends > Try out some more advanced methods of working with vectors
Book Workday 2 > Finish out your cover and move to the back and spine roughs, focus on typography
Book Workday 3 > Create the roughs of your inside flaps
Brushes, Effects & Symbols > Try out the brushes and experiment with different panels
Book Workday 4 > Start finalizing your rough designs, pay attention to small details
Trace Colors Not Shapes > Look at how to trace real images
Illustrated Book Cover Due > Export and turn in your final files
Who am I? Project Brief > Breakdown the project and doodle out 3 different versions and answers prompts
Who am I? Workday 1 > Find a high quality image of yourself and start tracing
Who am I? Workday 2 > Continue tracing, 25% of your face should be complete
Gmetrix Ai 1 > Complete in training mode, must get a 93% or better, certification prep
Gmetrix Ai 2 > Complete in training mode, must get a 93% or better, certification prep
Gmetrix PS 3 > Complete in training mode, must get a 93% or better, certification prep
Who am I? Workday 3 > Continue tracing, 75% of your face should be complete

Illustrator Certification Retake > If absent or did not pass we are going to try it one more time
Who am I? Workday 4 > Continue tracing, 100% of your face should be complete
Who am I? Workday 5 > Focus on typography and background
Make up day 3 > Make up any missing work from the marking period
Who am I? Project Due - Export and turn in all project files

Late Work
Classwork - will stay open 7 days from the due date.
Projects - will lose 10% of overall grade per day late
Only have 2 attempts to submit any project for grading.
All work must be turned into the right assignment in order to gain credit.
This is a deadline based industry so students will be held accountable.
Grading
Classwork: (50%) Students are expected to keep up with daily classwork assignments. This will consist of completing small design challenges with attached worksheets and videos on how to complete correctly. These lessons are designed to help students better understand certain aspects of the programs.
Projects: (50%) These are larger design challenges that are designed to replicate a real world work pace and style. These are bi-weekly or monthly challenges that students can work on at their own pace and skill level in order to ensure they are constantly growing and learning.
